Prior to the formation of Bourne & Kemp , Robert Bourne was honoured to be asked to undertake several prestigious commissions, including -
A brooch which the Australian Government presented to the Queen.
(in the design of Australia’s national emblem, the wattle flower, it was made in 18ct gold and covered with over 6.0cts of yellow diamonds).
A diamond ring for the Princess Margaret who, subsequently, paid a visit to the workshop to express her thanks for this unique piece.
Bourne & Kemp Bespoke Jewellers was established in London in 1979 as a manufacturing company, designing and making fine diamond jewellery for the retail sectors of England and the east coast of USA.
During the 1990’s Bourne & Kemp based themselves in Kent and moved into the retail sector, specialising in the design and creation of jewellery for their own clients . Their jewellery service is complete- incorporating everything from design stage to the finished product- and can make anything from `one off` pieces to complete sets of matching jewellery.
Combining their traditional skills with today’s sophistication , they have introduced CAD-CAM technology (Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing) whereby they can design a piece of jewellery on screen and show it to the customer in great detail- making any changes necessary to ensure the customer’s ultimate delight.
The design and making of bespoke jewellery is carried out in the workshop at Longfield.
“Robert Bourne” is a Freeman of the Goldsmiths Company and also a Freeman of the City of London.
